About the Authors

Deb rolled into adulthood 30 years ago wide-eyed and clueless.  She proceeded to make every mistake a person can make without actually landing herself in jail.  In the process she learned to question sacred truths, configure a network, dress professionally, rescue stray cats, wrestle equipment out of the hands of recalcitrant station chiefs,   raise children, balance a checkbook and do taxes, understand the constitution, hold her tongue, unleash her tongue, publish books, get married, get divorced, and relish what it means to be a life long learner.  She is, by profession, a resiliency specialist (think Emergency Management, Disaster Recovery, etc) with more than 25 years of experience in the field.  She expects to  welcome her first grandchild (courtesy of her elder daughter who is also a firefighter) in December 2013 and send her youngest daughter off to college in 2014.
